Everything you need to know

  • Initial Consultation: Once you’ve booked, we’ll discuss the details of your event and the vision. This is where we’ll discuss the setting, your preferred style, colours, and any special elements.

    1. Event Logistics: We’ll go over the timing of the event to ensure I can be set up at the right moment and the space where I’ll be painting. I’ll need a quiet spot with good lighting and space to work.

    2. Contract and Deposit: To secure your booking, I’ll send over a simple contract outlining the details, followed by a deposit. This helps us both stay organized and committed to the event.

  • Setting Up: I arrive early enough to set up my equipment and ensure I’m ready to start when the moment arrives. I work discreetly to not interrupt your event, but I’ll be there to capture all the important details.

    1. Live Painting Process: As the event unfolds, I begin painting live, capturing key moments in real time. Depending on the level of detail, this may take several hours to complete, so I’ll often take breaks during the process.

    2. Interaction: If you’d like, I’m happy to interact with your guests as I work – some people enjoy seeing the painting come together, while others prefer me to focus entirely on the art. Let me know what feels right for your event!

  • Completion of the Painting: After the event, I will add final touches and varnish. This can take anywhere from a few days to two weeks.

    1. Delivery and Framing: Once the painting is complete, we’ll arrange for its delivery. If you'd like, I can also help you frame the artwork to make it ready for display in your home or venue.

    2. Ongoing Communication: I’ll keep you updated throughout the process, and if you have any additional questions or requests after the event, feel free to reach out! I want to make sure you’re 100% happy with your finished piece.

  • I always recommend booking as early as possible to ensure that I can secure your preferred date. Popular dates, especially during wedding season or around holidays, can fill up. Ideally, booking 6 months to a year in advance is best, but I’m happy to discuss shorter timelines if your event is coming up soon!

    If you're unsure about your event date, feel free to reach out even if it's last minute – I do my best to accommodate last-minute bookings, depending on my schedule. Let's see if we can make it work!

  • I offer commissions of wedding scenes (from photos/ videos/ meetings) too! If I am booked out- I will not be able to provide the live painting experience; however, I will make sure I create a magical and enticing artwork that captures the same feelings as your wedding day

  • Each painting is created with care and detail, live on the day, then finished with personal touches afterward. I work quietly in the background, creating a timeless keepsake for you and a memorable experience for your guests.

About Your Wedding Artist

I’m Kelly Fernandes, an Artist and Designer based in Auckland with a deep love for creativity, storytelling, and meaningful moments.

I’ve been painting since I could hold a brush—starting in daycare, my first days of School in Auckland, school in India, high school in New Zealand, and later at University in Wellington, where I studied Graphic and UX Design.

Art has always been part of who I am, and now I use it to capture real, heartfelt moments on one of the most special days of your life.

I believe in making beautiful art that fits comfortably within your budget—something meaningful, stress-free, and full of heart. I’d be honoured to paint your love story. 💛
